ASSISTIVE CHAIR

Stand at Ease is an assistive chair for the elderly who suffer from knee joint problem and face difficulty while raising up from the sitting posture.

Why Stand At Eaze

Problem
• Difficulty during sitting and rising from a chair.
• Inability to bear excessive loads on the knees and hip.
• Muscle and joint pain exacerbates with time due to unassisted seating.
Goal
• Gradual assistance while rising from the chair.
• Resistive support to the occupant while sitting.

Problem Statement

Initial Testing with sEMG sensors on normal chair .
High thigh muscle activation observed while using normal chair doing stand-to-sit and
sit-to-stand actions.
